Arvada is full of activities and attractions perfect for all ages. There are ample amounts of convenient shopping throughout the city, and it is only a 9.8-mile drive to Denver for anything else you may need or want.
The city experiences all the seasons bringing spectacular views and various outdoor activities like hiking and skiing depending on the time of the year.
The city has tons of large and spacious single-family homes, mostly around one million dollars. The architectural style is a blend of historic and modern, offering plenty of options no matter what style interests you.  

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

The city is home to trendy brewpubs and exquisite dining options. School House Kitchen and Libations serves up American classics that you can pair with one of their 1,400 brands of whiskey. The Yak and Yeti Restaurant and Brewpub has delicious microbrews with an Indian-Nepalese buffet that will have you leaving stuffed. If you are looking for homemade pizza, wood fire pizzas, and gourmet burgers, then Homegrown Tap & Dough is the place for you. A different kind of restaurant, The Cereal Box, offers various and some rare cereal boxes and creations.
Olde Town Arvada is the city’s downtown district and houses an array of shops and boutiques. There is also the Arvada Marketplace which offers plenty of shopping and eateries in a beautiful outdoor setting.
Olde Town also has summer concerts and festivals to look forward to every year. The Arvada Center is also a hot destination featuring a museum, two art galleries, and a theater series the whole family can enjoy. Their outdoor summer stage has concerts, dance performers, and theater productions as an added bonus.

Things To Do

Whether you want to spend time indoors or out, Arvada has plenty for either. The natural scenery surrounding Arvada makes for great hiking, biking, and running trails. The city is home to multiple amazing ski resorts with fresh powder to fill your days in the wintertime. 520 Angler has guided fly fishing experiences, and the Indian Tree Golf Club has over 70,000 yards of fresh green lawns.
For those who prefer the indoors, the Cussler Museum was started by Clive Cussler and shows off an impressive collection of vintage vehicles from 1906 to 1965. The Lamar Street Center is a unique space decorated with retro art, vintage gas pumps, classic cars, motorcycles on the wall, and even a race car hanging from the ceiling. The center hosts a wide array of events and is available to rent out.


Arvada houses two school districts, Jefferson County School District No. R-1 and Westminster Public Schools. Some schools of note are:

  • Three Creeks, K-8, above-average test scores, and student progress
  • Ralston Valley Senior High School, 9-12, earned the Gold College Success Award
